Summer Flowers

I bought a few annuals this year for some added color outside of the back door.  It's in the area where we have our outdoor patio set.  I like seeing some bright blooms when coming in and out.

I browsed through the barn and found some unused old farm supplies to use for containers.

I used an old surge tank from the days when the farm was a dairy farm.

I also used the bottom of a retired chicken waterer to hold some more petunias.
I don't usually buy too many annuals because in the past I let them get too dry and they would die.  But I am managing to take better care of them now.  So pretty!

Yep potted plants require daily watering around here. I covet that chicken waterer turned planter.

Hi Cathy,

I absolutely agree with you regarding the need for vibrant colour around the patio, where people plant themselves all summer! Again, like you I haven't had the best of luck with these annuals - too much over watering on my part, but I keep buying them (my one and only luxury!) hoping that they'll last the entire summer.

Thanks for stopping by and the lovely comment. Great to have discovered your very cozy blog!!

Have a great weekend,

Hi! I am visiting you for the first time. I love your containers! And to think you have them just sitting around?

Watering the flowers first thing in the morning with your cup of coffee in hand works well as you never forget. :-)
