Have you guys seen this? Maybe it's old news but it was new to me. It's a site that links to recipe sites and foodie blogs and features great color photos of fabulous-looking recipes....you just click on the picture and you're whisked away to the site where the recipe is located. It works a lot like Pinterest in that way. It was following a link for a recipe on Pinterest that got me to Foodgawker, actually.
It is not uncommon for 2 or 3 people here at my house to be found sitting at the kitchen island, hunched over the laptop, making ooooh and aaaah sounds. Just scrolling through, on St. Paddy's day for instance, and reading off recipes like "Guinness infused chocolate cupcakes with Bailey's buttercream frosting...." what? Really?
|Thank you Foodgawker and Sweet Pea's Kitchen!|
Now, if I find I have some leftover chicken and I am in the mood for some pasta....well hellooo foodgawker....
I'm the type of person who can sit on the couch and read a cookbook so this stuff interests me. The foodgawker site is packed with recipes and the pictures are great and the links usually have some commentary about the recipes...trial and error, substitutions, etc..
So even if I'm not in the mood to cook, or I think I don't have anything in the house to turn into a meal, I just browse and usually I can find some drool-worthy recipe to try. Who loves the internet?
