I Can Hardly Believe It...

The time has finally come.

Still pinching myself.

I can't believe it.

Believe it or not...we finally have hi-speed internet here at the Bungalow.

!!!!!!!!

All this time we have had, at first, dial-up, and for last couple of years, a cellular plug-in wireless device.  And it was not fast.  Better than dial-up...sure....but not fast.

Watching videos?  Mostly no, unless you thought it important enough to wait a while for.  Skype?  No.  Pinterest, which I love, loaded slowly.  Anything that was filled with photos....like the blogs I love....
s-l-o-w.

I have had, all of this past year,  an issue where I cannot comment on any "embedded below" style comment boxes.  I just couldn't figure it out.  So I brought the laptop to my oldest son, the internet guy in our family, as he said he'd fix it.  Well, guess what...it worked at his hi-speed house.  Turns out it was all a speed-related issue.  There have been so many posts I have seen in the past year that I really liked but when I went to comment...uh-oh...embedded below...

So I hope to get a chance to start commenting on the things I love right away.

And oh my, how much faster will things like picnik (until april, anyway) be with faster speeds?

Yesterday, on the first day of hi-speed one of the first things we did were some google+ hangouts, first with my son and later with my daughter who's away at college. It was so great to see the girls all laughing.

These pictures are cell pictures so not the highest quality...

I wasted some time watching youtube cooking videos and viewing my newly fast Pinterest, while my boys were enjoying google earth.

Oh, and we streamed our first movie last night also.

Pinch me.

I plan to take lots of pictures and hopefully do more posting too.

So thank you to my new bff,  the hi-speed installation guy and to the (..grumble...*cough*) the telecommunications company that finally decided that our little part of the countryside was worth bringing up to speed.

It's a whole new world.

Congratulations!
I now know what a patient person you are, if you've been blogging all this time without high-speed!

Congratulations! I know how you feel. We live in the country with no cable just a satellite dish. We got hi-speed a year ago through our satellite tower. Isn't it nice not waiting for that little spinner on the computer to stop.

Have a lovely day,
Sue
