Printed Fabric Pillow

I have a painting project going on this week (which I will feature soon, hopefully) and while I wait for some of the stages to dry I have been doing a little bit of sewing.

I have been experimenting with printing on fabric. I tried out the roll of cotton printable fabric that I got on sale at the fabric store. First, I selected and saved an image from the Graphics Fairy. I then cut a piece of fabric from the roll and loaded it into the printer. I adjusted my settings and then hit "print". And then I waited while nothing happened. ...grr..

I then yelled for 18yo son, Peter (tech support), and grumbled loudly about my printer and its complete lack of cooperation. Peter grumbled along with me but still fixed my problem and we were off and printing.

I followed the directions that said to peel the backing, rinse and let dry. I didn't really have a plan for the image but I thought it would make a nice pillow for the couch in my sewing room.
I did a lot of little projects in December in preparation for Christmas but now I am just enjoying myself and doing some of those little crafts that I had been wanting to try out but hadn't gotten around to yet.

Happy January to you :-)

It turned out great! So many times they end of faded looking, but your is so sharp and clear.
It's fun to do some projects for yourself after sewing for others for gifts over the holidays.

Love your pillow--you found a great graphic! I am not sure what the printable fabric is. I will have to look for that!
