Happy New Year

2012 arrives!

We had a fun new year's eve with family and friends.  We aren't much for going out on the town for new years; we prefer staying in.  Our plans usually include lots of food and drink and plenty of games.  This year, during the festivities, we played an epic game of Taboo, with some of the younger folks pairing off to challenge the parents.  Yeah...well, fellow mom Karen and myself proved to be impossible team to beat.  Take that!

And that new dancing game?  On the wii?  There were some pretty hilarious moments, especially when the guys took the floor.  Oh my.  And how many people can shuffle at one time, in one living room, on one modestly-sized living room rug?  More than you'd think, that's for sure!

The other fun thing with new year's eve, for me at least, was getting a new camera!  I have been wanting a better camera for a while.  I am determined to learn to take better photos.  I am excited about learning to take good pictures in low-light situations.  My house is one big low-light situation.

So what have I done with it so far?  Not much...yet.  I have taken only a few pictures.  I annoyed one of the cats a bit and took a couple of photos inside my dimly lit house.  So far, so good.

I will be taking more in the days to come with high hopes that some of the pictures will make it to the blog.

Until then, Happy New Year to all of you!

"My house is one big low-light situation." I love this description. That is exactly what I'm dealing with HERE!

And all I have is the camera on my cell phone. (Well, that and Picasa.)
Imagine MY frustration :)
