Christmas Decor - Fabric Strip Garland

I made a new garland for the kitchen windows this weekend and thought I would share the results. I just added strips of homespun and a few calico pieces to a 100-light strand of Christmas lights. I have seen tutorials where the lights were first wrapped around something else. One crafty example used long pieces of old towels, rolled up, and secured with masking tape. The lights first wrap around the towel "rope" and then the fabric strips were added. It looked really great but I didn't do mine that way because I needed the full length of the light strand for my three kitchen windows.

I cut new homespun strips and also used some old strips that I had leftover from making log cabin quilts.

It was just a simple little project that only took a little while but I really like the results.
