Decoupaged Kitchen Stool

I have a few of these stools hanging around that I've had for a long time.  The kids used to sit on these stools at an old table of mine  when they were little.  Now that we have windsor style seats at the island, these stools are moved around here and there for extra seating.  One is used mostly by the cat.

They were originally hunter green with natural wood color on the seats.  I spray painted two of them black and then decided to paint this one Heirloom White. (partly because I am always coming around the end of the island where the black stool sits and running into it.  I thought maybe I would see the white and avoid those moments where I almost drop the stack of dishes or the basket of towels).

I decoupaged one of the black ones, and it turned out ok, so I thought I'd do the white one too.
Bruno, looking unsure about the idea....
I have some nice paper to use up.  I started with a brown pattern and then added a brown and cream plaid over the top.

I cut out some little buttons from an old Christmas card and added those for a little bit of detail.

testing...looks ok...

Then I drew a star on some red fabric and thought it looked good enough for the top.
testing to see if I like it...not glued yet...

All finished!

The perfect kind of stool for a Country Bungalow! Or even my cabin!
It's original and it's cute.
I would love to see a photo of the cat on your stool-how sweet.
