Picking Out Our Pumpkins

We stopped and bought a few pumpkins over the weekend.  There's a seller on our way to town who puts his pumpkins on a hay wagon down by the road for people to browse through.  They are all nice looking pumpkins and very affordable.  (the number 2 pictured below means those are 2 dollars..and so on)

As for payment, it is all on the honor system.  I kind of like that, in that it makes me feel hopeful.  The fact that he trusts his neighbors to be honest makes me feel good.  I hope everyone is.  I know I have slipped an extra dollar or two in the box just because I am grateful for such nice pumpkins!

It was so windy!  We jumped out  and chose our pumpkins quickly.
I put some out on the porch and I brought a few inside.  I am sure I will be moving them around a few times in the next couple of weeks.  Right now they are sitting on the island.  I love coming in the room and seeing them.
Happy October!

Boy I can't imagine anyone doing that around here. I love that there are still places that can happen and those are great prices.

We have a farm nearby that sells on the honor system. I remember being surprised when I first saw that!

I'm originally from Michigan - the Detroit area.

Hi Cathy, I bet you had fun picking out your own pumpkins. I believe my son and his family did the same thing this past weekend in Southern Ontario. I live in Northern Ontario and it sure was very windy this past weekend. I have found you and am following you through Debbie's Newbie Party and hope to visit more often. Please check out my blog and perhaps you could follow me. I would like that. Hugs, Chris

We have places around here that do the honor system for wood. It's nice to live in a smaller, more trusting community. Love your vignette! The pumpkins look great! Thanks for sharing.

I'm hosting my monthly Before Blogging Throwback Thursdays party and would love it if you'd come and share something you made/did/bought sometime before blogging. Can't wait to see what you share at the party.

Beautiful pumpkins! I love the honor system...we have a couple of vegetable stands not far from us that do the same thing. I feel the same as you do...it's worth giving a little more for the privilege of doing business this way. I love your arrangement...very pretty and I LOVE your teacup and saucer! Enjoy your week..
Maura :)
