The Blooms of June

I am so glad that we took the time to plant some shrubs and flowers when we first moved here a few years ago. Everything was very plain when we bought the house with only some beautiful mature shade trees around the yard. But we planted a variety of shrubs and perennials to fill in some spots and now we benefit with both flowers and more privacy.

The peonies smell wonderful! I love their big, fluffy, old-fashioned blooms.

Aren't Bleeding Hearts the most appropriately named flower? Such a perfect heart shape.

Today the temperatures have dropped back down into the 70's and it's cloudy and looking more and more like rain. Hopefully I will catch up on some housework!

Happy Summer!

Great flower pictures. I love all flowers, but bleeding heart has to be one of my favorites.

Lucky duck to grow peonies. Wish we could here. I love bleeding hearts too but we can't keep them alive here. I have to enjoy everyone else's.

What beautiful flowers! I love the old fashioned ones...they remind me of my Nana. Now my garden is filling gradually with the plants that I love. After rotating clouds and tornado warnings and wind yesterday things are calm here in the country and I'm going to do the same as you....get some housework done. I should be outside weeding though. Na! Have a wonderful weekend!
