More views of my kitchen...
My kitchen is the largest room in the house. It is big because it is an addition that Handy Hubby built. The original kitchen was tiny and needed so much work that building new was a reasonable option. Of course, with 7 children, we didn't stick with the original kitchen size, but instead went large and added a much-needed mudroom downstairs and 2 large bedrooms upstairs.
This is my island, which I bought used on craigslist. It's over 7 feet long and I love it. (If you ever come to visit...ask me sometime how I got the island...pretty hilarious)
Beyond the island on the right is my cookstove, which I use every day from late September until almost May. It heats the back half of the house and we cook with it too.
My gas stove is less than a year old; it has the convection feature which is pretty cool.I used to have a large 6-burner, double oven old Garland commercial range but I sold it last year. It was a beautiful stove but it needed work and I decided to go with something newer and much more precise. It was a beautiful stove though.
I also bought my butcher-block on, you guessed it, craigslist and I love that too. It is so amazingly tough. And so amazingly heavy -- a few hundred pounds. Getting that in the house was a comedy too.
I think in photos the kitchen appears to be much more yellow than it actually is.
I am grateful for a large kitchen that is a nice place to work and a great hang-out for our family and everyone who comes to visit.
